What we focus on

• Knowledge and insights
Joint analyses of markets, travel patterns, barriers, and potentials for international train tourism.

• Coordination and joint solutions
Collaboration across destinations, transport companies, and tourism actors to improve coherence in offerings, information, and customer experience.

• Development and projects
Testing and developing concrete initiatives e.g. new services, communication, or products aimed at international train travellers.

• Positioning trains as a form of tourism travel
A shared and strengthened narrative, especially towards the media and political decision-makers, about trains as a comfortable, efficient, and sustainable travel experience, with arrival directly in the city centre.

HOW WE WORK

The focus areas can range from local to European initiatives, and cover activities including:

  • Strategic collaboration, coordination and promotion of train tourism.
  • Identification of barriers and opportunities and how to get concrete results via relevant strategies and continuous research.
  • Increased visibility on congresses, conferences, social media and press, including marketing (FAM trips).
  • Be a strong and united influencer in the public (political) debate.
  • Ensuring a fact-based debate with use of strong data.
  • Network via bi-yearly regional meetings, newsletters, and exchange of best practise.
